Draw Rules
- This is a 50/50 payroll draw (LGCA#8133-RF-44559), 50 percent of cash goes to the winner, and 50 percent goes to the Northern Health Foundation (NHF) for the purchase of equipment (not covered by provincial funding) to benefit patients throughout the Northern Health Region (NHR).
- Ticket purchases are made by payroll deduction by employees using an enrollment form. Earnings must be made during each pay period to cover ticket costs.
- Ticket purchasers must be a resident of Manitoba or physically in Manitoba to purchase a ticket and must work for work for Northern Health Region and be on NHR payroll to participate. If no longer actively employed on draw date, a refund for the applicable draw will be issued and participation in future raffles will be cancelled.
- Ticket purchasers will receive electronic ticket confirmation on the Tuesday before each draw before midnight.
- One winner will be drawn on the Wednesday following paydays, at 2:00 pm, at the office of the NHF.
- Draws will be done through the service provider, Funding Change, using random number generator, approved by LGCA.
- All winners will be notified by email and/or telephone.
- Prizes will be paid by direct deposit or by cheque.
- Should a cheque not be cashed within 6 months from the draw date, the Northern Health Foundation will add the unclaimed amount to the proceeds.
- Persons under the age of 18 are not eligible to enter.
- The NHF must receive LGCA approval for any amendments to the draws.
- Staff of the NHF are not allowed to participate.

How much does a ticket cost?
You can purchase one ticket for $5, three tickets for $10 or ten tickets for $20.
How do I buy a ticket?
Fill out the Enrollment/Change form found on the Northern Health Foundation web page at www.northernhealthfoundation.com and send it to the NHR payroll office email, inter-departmental mail, or in person. The amount of $5, $10 or $20 will be taken off your pay cheque, depending on your selection. Northern Health Foundation 50/50 will be the deduction code on your pay statement.

Where can I find the Enrollment/Change form?
The Enrollment/Change forms are located on the NHF web page at www.northernhealthfoundation.com. (Call 204-681-3022 if you need help).
Do I have to fill out an Enrollment/Change form for every draw?
No. Once you have filled out the Enrollment/Change form and sent it in, you are enrolled for every draw . If you wish, you can submit the Enrollment/Change form again indicating you would like to cancel your enrollment or change your ticket choice for the NHR Staff 50/50 Payroll Draw.
How do I get my ticket(s)?
Your ticket(s) will be emailed to you on the Tuesday before each draw. Please be sure to fill out the form very clearly so that you receive your ticket(s). Your ticket(s) will be emailed from the third party provider, Funding Change. An email address is mandatory for enrollment.
How is the winner picked?
The winner will be picked on the Wednesday following paydays, at 2:00pm. The draw will take place at the office of the Northern Health Foundation in Flin Flon, MB with the service provider, Funding Change, using electronic randomization equipment, approved by Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority (LGCA) of Manitoba.
How will I know if I won?
The winner will be contacted by email and/or telephone. The winner’s name will also be printed on the NHR Intranet and listed on the NHF website.
I work casual, am I still able to buy tickets?
Yes, you can fill out the Enrollment/Change form and submit it to the NHR payroll office. You will only be entered in the draws when you receive a pay cheque. If you have not worked a shift within a pay period, you will not have received earnings to have your ticket amount deducted, and will not be entered into that draw.
I work for Shared Health, am I able to participate in the draw?
According to LGCA of Manitoba, you must be an employee of NHR to participate in the draw.
Do I have to sign up for a whole year at a time?
When you initially fill out and submit your Enrollment/Change form, you are enrolled for every draw . However, you can opt out at any time. To cancel your enrollment you need to fill out the Enrollment/Change form indicating you would like to cancel your 50/50 payroll draw deduction, and then send the form in to the NHR payroll office two weeks prior to the draw date.
Can I change my ticket choice?
You can change your ticket choice at any time. You need to fill out the Enrollment/Change form indicating you would like to change your 50/50 payroll draw ticket choice, and then send it in to the NHR payroll office two weeks prior to the draw date to be entered into the next draw.
Can I re-register if I cancel?
Yes, fill out the Enrollment/Change form and send it in to the NHR payroll office two weeks prior to the draw to be entered into the next draw.
Can I sign up any time throughout the year?
Yes, fill out the Enrollment/Change form and send it in to the NHR payroll office two weeks prior to the draw to be entered into the next draw.
Can I buy more than one ticket per draw?
Yes, you can purchase one ticket for $5, three tickets for $10 or ten tickets for $20.
Where do the proceeds of the draw go?
Half the proceeds goes to the winning NHR Staff member, the other half goes to the Northern Health Foundation for the purchase of equipment and for program support to benefit patients requiring care throughout the NHR.
What is the Northern Health Foundation?
The Northern Health Foundation is a community-based group made up of Northern Manitobans whose goal is to raise funds for the program, equipment, and capital projects needs of the Northern Health Region. Their fundraising efforts benefit all who are served within the Northern Health Region.
Who is organizing the draw?
The Northern Health Foundation is the organizer and LGCA license holder.
When is the draw made?

If I win how do I receive my money?
You will receive your winnings by direct deposit or by cheque. Arrangements can be made with the Foundation Office Coordinator of the NHF (204-681-3022). Should a cheque not be cashed within six months from the draw date, the Northern Health Foundation will add the unclaimed amount to the proceeds.
Do I receive a tax receipt at the end of the year?
No, just like purchasing any other 50/50 ticket, you will not receive a tax receipt.
